Strawberries

It's strawberry season up here. We've finally made it out more than once before they've all disappeared. It's actually been a good activity for Aspen and I to do while Greg is fishing. Although, she is a lot like her Daddy and tends to eat everything that I put in the bucket(it's very cute). Eventually I was able to secretly gather up enough berries to make some jam and strawberry rhubarb syrup!

These are the pictures from out latest trip

It's not easy to fill a container when she's around :)

Daddy's little helper

Mouth full of strawberries and hugging her doggie...what could be better?

Caught in the act :)

I really love how beautiful it is here...the colors around us were amazing.

Finished with just enough berries to complete the jam making. (Aspen didn't get to see those)

Oregon Zoo

One of the things we did while in Oregon was visit the zoo. It was so much fun to see Aspen's reactions when she would spot the animals. Her favorites animals were the polar bears, elephants, black bears, and the cardboard penguins. I can't wait to take her again!

Mountain Goat...they were so hot...I felt bad for them :(

Black Bear (kinda looks like a pic from my yard)

Checking out the aquatic life.

Watching the Polar Bear

She was so cute...I loved watching her!

She is such an animal lover (the mama lion even got a kiss).

She cried when we had to leave the cardboard penguins. She wasn't even interested in the live ones.

This is where she could actually see the bears...she was trying so hard to climb over and see them....I had to pry her off the railing.

Mom and Aspen on the school bus shuttle

Good times!

It was a rainy 4TH OF JULY...but we still enjoyed it.

Greg, Ross, and Aspen

Aspen's new best friend Pepper! They are only a day apart and they hit it off fantastically--we've had to wait a whole year for them to meet. I wish they didn't have to leave in a couple days.

Greg playing his annual horse shoe game...so far when I left him and Sterling had won there first game.

I'm just giving her a taste of that cookie dough ice cream...she kept wanting more though :)
